The Pennsylvania Dental Association had been seeking clarification from the PA Department of Health regarding its May 8th Revision to The Guidelines for Dental Offices, specifically a clarification as to the scope and application of "non-emergent" and "non-urgent" care. On Wednesday, May 14 Secretary Levine gave further guidance and specifically said no routine cleanings at this time. Unfortunately, even though we've been preparing and have satisfied the guidelines, and we have PPE available, the PA DOH and Secretary of Health has specifically stated that there is no routine dental cleanings or exams at this time. To clarify, this means that some limited dental procedures can begin statewide however procedures such as cleanings are still off limits!
Trust us, we are more upset about this news than you are and we ask that you be patient and refrain from calling or emailing the office. Once the ban on routine checkups and cleanings is lifted we will contact all patients to schedule their appointments with a priority given to those who were canceled in March, April, and then May. Additional days and hygienists will be made available this summer to get students and children ready for school in the fall. Stay tuned for more developments and stay safe.
Our team will continue to monitor the situation and provide updated information when warranted. We are asking patients to follow our Facebook page for the most current information.
